Tender Documents
Term of Reference for Procurement of farm tool/ Local plowshare.
1. Background
CARE is one of the major international humanitarian agencies delivering emergency relief and long-term international development projects. CARE ETHIOPIA has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 and is currently working in different regions. Although we still carry out emergency food relief, the focus of our work has shifted toward addressing the root causes of poverty and vulnerability through longer-term rehabilitation and development. CARE ETHIOPIA is implementing multi-sectoral interventions, including Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) for conflict and drought-affected pastoralist communities in the region.
SELAM - Recovery project is 18 months project proposed to implement in the eastern Tigray region where communities were affected during the conflict. The focus of the proposed intervention will be on addressing pressing food security concerns related to both availability and affordability of food items by enhancing local production capacities. As a consequence, HHs with access to land for farming and livestock herding will constitute the majority of project participants. They will immediately benefit from the increased availability of food in the HH and may be able
to generate additional income through marketing surplus produce.
